The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH70022 is a Dash 022 Buna-N (nitrile butadiene rubber) O-ring with a round cross section, measuring 1 inch inside diameter, 1.125 inches outside diameter, and 0.0625 inches thick. Rated at 70 Shore A hardness, it delivers excellent resistance to petroleum products along with strong compression set, tear, and abrasion resistance. This O-ring is one of the most widely used elastomer seals in trade applications and is sold in a package of 100. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of seal in fluid and gas handling assemblies where reliable static or dynamic sealing is required.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial applications involving petroleum-based fluids, hydraulic systems, pneumatic fittings, valve stems, and pump assemblies. Its operating temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F makes it appropriate for a broad range of mechanical and HVAC service environments. It meets SAE and MIL-Spec standards. Note that Buna-N elastomers should not be stored in direct sunlight or near motors and other electrical equipment that may generate ozone, as ozone exposure degrades the material over time.
Compatible with petroleum products and petroleum-based hydraulic fluids. Designed as a standard Dash 022 O-ring replacement for valves, pumps, fittings, and fluid system components where Buna-N material is specified. Not FDA approved; not recommended for food-contact or potable-water applications without verification of local code requirements.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or mechanical service technicians. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing the old seal and installing the replacement O-ring. Apply a compatible lubricant (rated for the fluid service) to the O-ring before seating to prevent nicking or rolling during assembly. Avoid twisting the O-ring in the groove, as a twisted seal will not hold pressure reliably.
