The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCH3X24 is a round cross-section O-ring manufactured from Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (Buna-N), one of the most widely used elastomers in fluid sealing applications. It measures 24 inches inside diameter with a 3-inch cross-section thickness, yielding a 30-inch outside diameter. The material carries a Shore A hardness of 70, placing it in the hard hardness range. Buna-N offers strong resistance to petroleum-based fluids, good compression set performance, and solid tear and abrasion resistance. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and maintenance mechanics typically specify this type of seal for large-diameter static or low-dynamic sealing applications.
This O-ring suits industrial and commercial applications where petroleum product compatibility is required, including hydraulic systems, fuel handling equipment, and large-bore pipe flanges. Its temperature range of -40 degrees F to 250 degrees F covers the majority of common service environments found in mechanical rooms, process piping, and heavy equipment. It is not FDA approved, so it is not appropriate for food-grade or potable-water applications without independent verification of suitability.
Compatible with petroleum-based fluids including oils, fuels, and hydraulic fluid media. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or maintenance spare for large-diameter static sealing applications requiring a 24-inch inside diameter Buna-N O-ring. Store away from direct sunlight, ozone sources, and electrical equipment that generates ozone to preserve elastomer integrity.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or qualified maintenance mechanics working on large-bore flanged assemblies or hydraulic equipment. Shut down and depressurize the system fully before removing the old seal and seating the new O-ring. Inspect the groove for nicks, corrosion, or debris before installation. Avoid using petroleum-incompatible lubricants during assembly; a light coating of a compatible fluid or assembly lubricant aids proper seating without degrading the elastomer.
