The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70349 is a Dash 349 EPDM O-ring with a round cross section, designed for static and dynamic sealing applications in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial fluid systems. It measures 4.5 inches inside diameter, 4.875 inches outside diameter, and 0.1875 inches thick. The compound is Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, which provides strong resistance to hot water, steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. Hardness is rated at 70 Shore A, placing it in the hard durometer range. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance mechanics are the typical installers for this size O-ring.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial plumbing connections, hydronic heating systems, and hydraulic systems using phosphate ester fluids. It is also recommended for use in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems where resistance to Skydrol fluids is required. The EPDM material performs across a wide service temperature range, making it appropriate for both low-temperature and elevated-temperature sealing environments. Sold in packages of 12, it is practical for shops and service vehicles that need to stock common sealing sizes.
Compatible with hot water, steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluid systems. The EPDM material is also compatible with Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems. Not FDA approved; not recommended for food-contact or potable-water applications without independent verification of end-use compliance.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified industrial mechanics depending on the system. Always depressurize and drain the line or system before replacing any O-ring. Inspect the mating groove and sealing surfaces for damage, corrosion, or debris before seating the new ring. Apply a compatible lubricant to ease installation and prevent rolling or tearing of the O-ring during assembly.
