The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70221 is a Dash 221 EPDM O-ring designed for sealing applications that demand reliable performance across a wide temperature range and in contact with aggressive fluids. Measuring 1.438 inches inside diameter, 1.688 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick, this round-cross-section ring is molded from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) rubber. It carries a hardness rating of 70 Shore A, which falls in the hard range and provides firm, consistent compression. Rated from -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F, it suits hot-water and steam service as well as phosphate ester hydraulic fluid systems.
This O-ring is well suited for plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, and industrial fluid-handling circuits where hot water, steam, or phosphate ester hydraulic fluids are present. It also offers excellent resistance to Skydrol-type fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems, making it a practical choice for MRO and aerospace maintenance shops. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians commonly specify Dash 221 EPDM rings for valve stems, pump housings, manifold ports, and threaded union seals in these service environments. Sold in a package quantity of 50 units.
Designed for use with hot water, steam, and phosphate ester type hydraulic fluids; also suitable for Skydrol-fluid service in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems. Not FDA approved; confirm fluid and regulatory compatibility before use in food-contact or potable-water applications.
Power down or isolate and depressurize the fluid circuit before removing any sealing components. Clean the groove and mating surfaces thoroughly and inspect for scoring or corrosion before installing the new O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or grease rated for EPDM to prevent tearing during assembly. Follow applicable plumbing or mechanical codes, including IPC and ASME B31 references, for system pressure testing after reassembly.
