The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70169 is a Dash 169 EPDM O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial fluid systems. Molded from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) compound, this O-ring carries a Shore A hardness of 70 and a round cross-section profile. It measures 7.5 inches inside diameter, 7.688 inches outside diameter, and 0.094 inches thick. The material formulation provides broad chemical compatibility and a working temperature range of -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F, making it suitable for hot water, steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluid service. Each order contains a package of 4 O-rings.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, hydronic heating systems, and industrial hydraulic assemblies where EPDM-compatible media are present. It performs well in hot water and steam service, and it is also recommended for use with phosphate ester type hydraulic fluids, including Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and millwrights commonly specify this compound for sealing flanges, valve bodies, and pipe couplings operating within the stated temperature limits.
Compatible with hot water, steam, and phosphate ester type hydraulic fluid systems, including Skydrol hydraulic fluids used in commercial aircraft applications. Not FDA approved; not intended for food-contact applications.
Power down or depressurize the system and isolate the fluid supply before removing the old O-ring. Inspect the gland and mating surfaces for nicks, burrs, or corrosion that could damage the new seal. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or grease before installation to prevent pinching or twisting during assembly. Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified industrial mechanics following applicable IPC or system manufacturer guidelines.
