The VALUE COLLECTION ZMSCE70115 is a Dash 115 EPDM O-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications where exposure to high-temperature fluids, steam, or specialty hydraulic fluids is a primary concern. The round cross section measures 0.688 inches inside diameter, 0.875 inches outside diameter, and 0.0937 inches thick. Rated for service from -65 degrees F to 300 degrees F, this 70 Shore A hardness O-ring is sold in packs of 100, making it practical for shop stock or field kit replenishment. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and hydraulic system mechanics are the primary installers.
This O-ring is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems handling hot water and steam, as well as hydraulic circuits using phosphate ester type fluids such as Skydrol, which is common in commercial aircraft ground support and aerospace maintenance environments. The EPDM compound delivers strong resistance to oxidation and heat aging, making it a reliable choice for high-temperature water service, boiler connections, steam traps, and similar applications where silicone or Buna-N compounds would degrade prematurely.
Compatible with systems handling hot water, steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. Suitable for applications requiring resistance to Skydrol fluids used in commercial aircraft hydraulic systems. Not recommended for petroleum-based oils, fuels, or aromatic solvents where EPDM is not chemically compatible.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or hydraulic system mechanics depending on the application. Shut off fluid supply and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any O-ring. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible fluid or lubricant prior to installation to prevent tearing during seating. Follow applicable codes such as the International Plumbing Code or equipment manufacturer service procedures for groove dimensions and compression tolerances.
