The VALUE COLLECTION ZHNYD2-5 is a partially insulated hook ring terminal designed for use in low-voltage wiring applications where a secure, vibration-resistant connection is required. It accepts 16 to 14 AWG copper wire via a crimp connection and seats onto a No. 10 stud. The copper contact provides reliable conductivity, while the blue nylon insulation sleeve offers partial strain relief and visual identification for wire gauge range. This terminal is commonly installed by electricians, HVAC technicians, and panel wiring professionals during control circuit assembly, equipment wiring, or field repair work.
This hook ring terminal is suited for residential and light commercial electrical applications where a non-permanent or semi-permanent ring connection is needed. The hook-style ring allows the terminal to be connected or removed from a stud without fully extracting the fastener, making it useful in control panels, junction boxes, and equipment wiring harnesses. It is appropriate for use with standard 16 to 14 AWG stranded or solid copper conductors in dry or protected environments.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp terminal for use with 16 to 14 AWG wire on No. 10 stud sizes in standard electrical and control wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or trained technician. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before terminating any wire. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the wire gauge and terminal type to achieve a consistent, gas-tight crimp. Avoid over-crimping, which can damage the nylon insulation sleeve and reduce strain relief effectiveness.
