The VALUE COLLECTION XNB09025 is a black steel pipe nipple sized at 2 inches diameter by 2-1/2 inches long, manufactured to Schedule 80 wall thickness. This nipple is produced from steel using seamless and welded construction methods, giving it the wall strength required for higher-pressure piping applications. The black finish is a standard mill coating applied to carbon steel pipe fittings used in gas, steam, and industrial fluid systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple as a short connector between threaded fittings, valves, and pipe sections. Thread form conforms to ANSI B1.20.1 and ASME B1.20.1, making it directly compatible with standard NPT-threaded components. The material meets ASTM A106 and ASTM A53 standards.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial piping systems where Schedule 80 wall thickness is specified. Common applications include natural gas supply lines, steam distribution, compressed air, and industrial fluid transfer. The 2-inch pipe size is frequently encountered in main gas headers, boiler supply piping, and mechanical room installations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC mechanical contractors install this fitting during new construction, system expansion, or repair work where a short threaded connector is needed between components.
Designed as a standard Schedule 80 black steel threaded pipe nipple for use with 2-inch NPT-threaded fittings, valves, and pipe sections in gas, steam, compressed air, and industrial fluid piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC requirements for the intended service. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid before making up the joint. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as this can damage the threads or the mating fitting.
