The VALUE COLLECTION WN5XX00400-050BX is a standard wing nut threaded to M4x0.70 metric coarse specifications and manufactured from Grade 316 austenitic stainless steel to the A4 material designation. The DIN 315 profile provides the familiar two-wing geometry for hand-tightening and loosening without tools. With a wing span of 17.60 mm and a wing height of 8.60 mm, this fastener is suited for applications requiring a compact, tool-free clamping point. The 316 alloy delivers solid resistance to corrosive environments, including exposure to chlorides, making it appropriate for wet, marine, or chemical-adjacent service conditions. Licensed tradespeople and maintenance professionals working in demanding environments select this grade when standard carbon steel would corrode prematurely.
This wing nut is used wherever a hand-adjustable threaded fastener is needed on M4 metric coarse threaded assemblies. Typical applications include panel access covers, equipment guards, inspection doors, and light structural assemblies in HVAC, plumbing, electrical enclosure, and pool equipment environments. The right-hand thread direction conforms to standard metric fastener convention. The stainless steel construction makes it particularly well suited for outdoor, coastal, and chemically exposed installations where corrosion resistance is a primary concern.
Designed for use with M4x0.70 metric coarse threaded studs, bolts, and assemblies conforming to standard metric thread specifications. Meets DIN 315 dimensional standards.
Installation does not require tools under normal hand-tightening service. For applications subject to vibration, a thread-locking method appropriate to stainless steel fasteners should be evaluated. When working on live electrical enclosures or pressurized systems, de-energize or depressurize the assembly before removing or installing fasteners. Avoid mixing stainless steel fasteners with dissimilar metals in direct contact where galvanic corrosion is a concern.
