The VALUE COLLECTION TEV80334 is a Dash 334 O-ring with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-encapsulated Viton core, designed for static and dynamic sealing applications that demand broad chemical resistance and a wide service temperature range. The round cross-section ring measures 2.625 inches inside diameter, 3.000 inches outside diameter, and 0.1875 inches thick. The PTFE outer layer protects the Viton elastomer against aggressive media while the Viton core maintains resilience and sealing force. Shore hardness is rated at 80, placing it in the hard category for applications requiring firm compression set resistance. Licensed tradespeople and industrial maintenance technicians install this part in fluid and gas systems where standard elastomers fall short.
This O-ring is suited for use in HVAC, plumbing, pool, and industrial fluid-handling systems where chemical compatibility and wide temperature tolerance are critical. Typical applications include pump seals, valve stems, flanged connections, and fittings exposed to fuels, solvents, or aggressive process fluids. The PTFE encapsulation makes this ring a practical choice in systems handling refrigerants, chlorinated water, or corrosive chemicals where bare Viton or EPDM would degrade prematurely. It is sold individually and is appropriate wherever a Dash 334 cross-section O-ring is specified.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for any application requiring a Dash 334 O-ring with PTFE-encapsulated Viton material. Confirm groove dimensions and chemical exposure requirements before installation.
Shut down and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing O-rings. Inspect the mating groove for burrs, scoring, or contamination and clean thoroughly before seating the new ring. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants with PTFE-encapsulated rings; consult the system manufacturer for an approved assembly lubricant compatible with PTFE and Viton. Installation of sealing components in pressurized fluid systems should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with applicable plumbing or mechanical codes.
