The VALUE COLLECTION TEV80226 is a Dash 226 PTFE-encapsulated Viton o-ring designed for static and dynamic sealing applications in demanding fluid and gas systems. The ring features a seamless Teflon FEP encapsulation that fully encloses a Viton or silicone elastomer core, combining the broad chemical resistance of solid PTFE with the elasticity and recovery characteristics of a rubber elastomer. It measures 2 inches inside diameter, 2.25 inches outside diameter, and 0.125 inches thick, with a round cross section and a hardness rating of 80 Shore. This combination makes it suitable for aggressive chemical environments where standard elastomer o-rings would degrade.
This o-ring is used in plumbing, HVAC, chemical processing, and industrial fluid handling applications where exposure to solvents, acids, fuels, or elevated temperatures rules out standard Buna-N or neoprene seals. It is rated for continuous service from -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F, making it appropriate for both cryogenic-adjacent low-temperature service and high-temperature process lines. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this style of seal in flanged connections, valve stems, pump housings, and fittings requiring a high-integrity face or radial seal.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit seal for applications calling for a Dash 226 o-ring with a 2-inch inside diameter, 2.25-inch outside diameter, and 0.125-inch cross section thickness in PTFE-encapsulated or FEP-encapsulated Viton configurations.
Shut down and depressurize the system completely before removing the old seal or installing this o-ring. Inspect the groove and mating surfaces for nicks, scoring, or debris that could compromise the seal. Avoid using petroleum-based lubricants on PTFE-encapsulated o-rings; consult the system manufacturer for an approved assembly lubricant compatible with FEP and Viton. Installation should follow applicable plumbing or mechanical codes, including IPC and ASME guidelines where pressure systems are involved.
