The ring features a seamless, uniform FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) Teflon encapsulation that completely encloses a Viton or silicone elastomer core. This construction delivers the chemical and temperature resistance of solid PTFE while retaining the compression set recovery of an elastomeric seal. It carries an 80 hardness rating and a round cross section. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of seal in fluid-handling systems where aggressive media or wide temperature swings would degrade standard rubber O-rings.
