The VALUE COLLECTION TEV80112 is a Dash 112 PTFE-encapsulated Viton O-ring designed for sealing applications that demand both chemical resistance and reliable elasticity. The ring features a seamless, uniform FEP-Teflon encapsulation that completely encloses a Viton or silicone elastomer core. This construction delivers the chemical and temperature resistance of solid PTFE while retaining the compression set recovery and elasticity of an elastomeric seal. With a temperature range of -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F and a hardness rating of 80 Shore, it is suited for demanding fluid and gas sealing service in HVAC, plumbing, and industrial systems.
This O-ring is used in applications where aggressive chemicals, solvents, or wide temperature swings would degrade standard nitrile or EPDM seals. Typical install scenarios include valve stems, pump housings, refrigerant circuit fittings, and instrumentation connections. The round cross section and standard Dash 112 sizing make it a straightforward drop-in seal wherever that dash number is called out on an engineering drawing or OEM spec sheet. Technicians working on chemical feed systems, commercial HVAC refrigerant lines, and high-temperature fluid circuits will find this O-ring appropriate for the service environment.
Designed as a direct dimensional replacement for any application specifying a Dash 112 O-ring with a 0.5 inch inside diameter, 0.688 inch outside diameter, and 0.0937 inch cross-section thickness.
O-ring installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians, plumbers, or pipefitters depending on the system type. Always depressurize and, where applicable, recover refrigerant or isolate fluid lines before replacing seals. Lubricate the O-ring with a compatible lubricant — confirm lubricant compatibility with PTFE and Viton before use. Avoid twisting or rolling the O-ring during installation to prevent early seal failure.
