The VALUE COLLECTION TEV80021 is a Dash 021 O-ring designed for sealing applications that demand both chemical resistance and reliable elasticity. Constructed from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-encapsulated Viton, the ring features a seamless FEP Teflon outer layer that completely encloses a Viton or silicone elastomer core. This construction delivers the broad chemical resistance of solid PTFE while retaining the compression set recovery of an elastomeric seal. The round cross section measures 0.9260 inches inside diameter, 1.0630 inches outside diameter, and 0.0625 inches thick, with a hardness rating of 80. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals use this O-ring in fluid and gas handling systems where aggressive media or wide temperature swings would degrade standard Buna-N or EPDM seals.
The TEV80021 is suited for use in both residential and commercial applications involving aggressive chemicals, solvents, or wide thermal cycles. Typical installations include valve seats, pump fittings, flange faces, and instrumentation connections. Its rated operating range of -75 degrees F to 400 degrees F makes it appropriate for cryogenic-adjacent service on the low end and steam or high-temperature process lines on the upper end. The round cross section seats cleanly in standard Dash 021 O-ring grooves.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or maintenance seal for any application requiring a Dash 021 size O-ring in a PTFE-encapsulated Viton construction, including valve, pump, and instrumentation assemblies that use standard O-ring groove dimensions for this dash size.
Installation is typically performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or industrial maintenance technicians. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing the old seal, and verify the groove is clean and free of debris before seating the new O-ring. Avoid using sharp tools that could nick the PTFE encapsulation layer. Follow applicable codes such as IPC or system manufacturer guidelines for torque and assembly procedures.
