The VALUE COLLECTION TCN36240E is a solid carbide on-edge threading insert designed for external and internal thread-cutting operations on CNC lathes and threading toolholders. It produces 60-degree V-form threads and features a PVD titanium nitride (TiN) coating applied over a submicron-grade carbide substrate. The TiN finish increases surface hardness and reduces tool wear during high-speed threading passes. With a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.1875 inches, this insert fits standard TNMC-style toolholders. It carries the manufacturer grade designation TCN55 and is suitable for threading steel, alloy steel, and similar machinable metals.
