The VALUE COLLECTION SWC1560CO is a double angle milling cutter designed for forming symmetrical V-grooves, chamfers, and dovetail features in metal workpieces. Built from cobalt high-speed steel, this cutter offers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling, making it well suited for interrupted cuts and tougher ferrous alloys. The included angle measures 60 degrees, the cutting diameter is 1-7/8 inches, and the cutting width is 5/8 inches. The 3/4-inch shank provides a rigid, concentric mount in standard milling machine collets and chucks. Overall length is 3-25/32 inches. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the cobalt substrate exposed for straightforward regrinding.
This cutter is used in manual knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and horizontal milling setups where double-angle form milling is required. Typical applications include cutting symmetric chamfers, producing gear-tooth forms, milling splines, and generating dovetail slides. It is appropriate for job shop, toolroom, and production floor use where medium-volume material removal on steel, stainless, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys is required. The 60-degree included angle is one of the most common standard angles for dovetail and chamfer work.
Designed as a standard-shank double angle milling cutter compatible with milling machine spindles accepting a 3/4-inch straight shank via collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholding system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine manufacturer's toolholding procedures. Power down and lock out the milling machine before mounting or removing the cutter. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting, and use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material.
