The VALUE COLLECTION STC1205 is a cobalt T-slot cutter designed for milling T-slots in machine tables, fixtures, and workholding components. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this cutter delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling, making it well-suited for harder workpiece materials and higher-feed applications. The cutter measures 1-1/2 inches in diameter with a 5/16 inch cutting width and runs on a 1 inch shank diameter. With an 8-tooth staggered configuration, it promotes chip clearance and smooth cutting action across the full slot width.
This T-slot cutter is used in manual and CNC milling operations where standard T-slot profiles must be machined into steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. Typical applications include producing T-slots for fixture plates, machine tables, and jig components in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments. It is installed in horizontal or vertical milling machines with a matching 1 inch arbor or collet system. The 18 mm neck diameter provides clearance relief between the shank and cutter body during plunge and full-depth passes.
Designed as a direct-fit T-slot cutter for use with standard 1 inch milling arbors and collet holders on horizontal and vertical knee mills, bed mills, and compatible CNC milling machines.
T-slot cutters are installed by qualified machinists on milling machines with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the 1 inch shank firmly in a matched arbor or collet to minimize runout before cutting. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to manage heat buildup at the cutter. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the material being machined, as T-slot cutters are susceptible to deflection and tool breakage under excessive loads.
