The VALUE COLLECTION ST3/8-16X1 is a self sealing hex bolt designed for applications where vibration resistance and leak prevention are required at the fastener seat. The bolt features a silicone O-ring seated under the head that compresses against the mating surface during installation, creating a seal that resists fluid and gas intrusion. Manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel and passivated to enhance corrosion resistance, this fastener is well suited for wet, humid, or chemically active environments. The 3/8-16 UNC thread pattern and 1-inch length under head make it a practical choice for mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and fluid-handling equipment. Sold in a pack of 5. Typically installed by mechanical technicians, plumbers, and HVAC service professionals.
This self sealing hex bolt is used in applications where standard fasteners allow fluid migration along the bolt shank or around the head. Common install scenarios include pump housings, fluid reservoirs, electrical enclosures exposed to moisture, HVAC equipment panels, and plumbing access covers. The 18-8 stainless steel construction with passivation treatment makes it appropriate for both indoor and outdoor use where corrosion is a concern. The UNC thread standard ensures broad compatibility with standard tapped holes in steel, aluminum, and plastic substrates.
Designed as a direct-fit self sealing fastener for standard 3/8-16 UNC tapped holes in mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and fluid-handling equipment requiring a leak-resistant fastener seat.
Installation requires a standard hex wrench or socket sized for the bolt head. Torque the fastener to the value specified by the equipment manufacturer to ensure proper O-ring compression without over-compression that could damage the seal. De-energize or depressurize the system before removing or replacing fasteners on pressurized assemblies. Inspect the O-ring for damage before installation and do not reuse a bolt with a visibly cut or deformed O-ring.
