The VALUE COLLECTION ST0730048 is a bridge reamer designed to enlarge and align holes in structural steel, plate, and fabricated assemblies. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent material removal in demanding shop and field applications. The reamer measures 3/4 inches in diameter with a 7-3/8 inches flute length and a 12 inches overall length. A left-hand spiral, right-hand cut configuration reduces the tendency to pull the tool into the workpiece, giving the operator better control during through-hole finishing. It is installed and operated by machinists, ironworkers, and structural fabricators.
Bridge reamers are a standard tool in structural steel fabrication and erection, used to bring misaligned bolt holes into true alignment before fastener installation. This model is suited for use in both manual and machine setups. The 3 Morse Taper (3MT) shank connects directly to compatible drill presses, magnetic drills, and manual reaming handles without adapters on machines with a native MT3 spindle. The small end diameter of 15/32 inches provides the entry lead-in geometry characteristic of bridge-style reamers.
Designed for use in drill presses, magnetic base drills, and reaming fixtures equipped with a 3 Morse Taper (3MT) spindle. Suitable for reaming structural steel, bridge plate, and similar ferrous workpieces to a 3/4 inches finished diameter.
Secure the 3MT shank fully into the spindle socket and verify the tang is seated before operation. Apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Operate at reduced spindle speeds compared to twist drilling — bridge reamers require lower RPM and steady feed pressure. Inspect the flutes and cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, and never use a damaged reamer in a structural application.
