The VALUE COLLECTION ST0140136 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1-9/16 inch (1.5625 inch decimal) diameter and a 4MT Morse taper shank, this reamer mounts directly into compatible taper-socket spindles and tailstocks for stable, concentric cutting. The 3-1/2 inch straight-flute cutting section spans 12 flutes arranged for right-hand cutting, delivering smooth material removal and tight dimensional tolerances. The bright, uncoated HSS construction is well suited to a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers of this reamer.
This chucking reamer is intended for use in lathes, drill presses, milling machines, and machining centers equipped with a No. 4 Morse taper socket. It is appropriate for finish-reaming through-holes and blind holes in production and job-shop environments where precise bore diameter and surface finish are required. The 12-1/2 inch overall length provides adequate reach for deeper bores while maintaining rigidity through the Morse taper shank interface. It is a standard choice for ferrous machining tasks where HSS tooling is preferred over carbide.
Designed for use in machine tool spindles and lathe tailstocks equipped with a No. 4 Morse taper (4MT) socket. Suitable for finish-reaming operations on standard metalworking equipment accepting chucking reamers of 1-9/16 inch diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle or tailstock is fully powered down and at a complete stop. Clean the Morse taper shank and receiving socket thoroughly before seating to ensure full contact and concentricity. Use a drift key and proper knockout bar to remove the reamer — never strike the tool body directly to dislodge it from the taper.
