The VALUE COLLECTION SS6X12020-050BX is a metric cup point set screw designed for mechanical assemblies requiring a secure, non-projecting fastener. Sized M12 x 1.75 with an overall length of 20 mm, it is driven by a 6 mm hex key and conforms to DIN 916 standards. The cup point geometry bites into the mating shaft surface to resist rotation and axial movement without requiring a nut or through-hole. Constructed from Grade 18-8 austenitic stainless steel (Grade A2), the fastener offers corrosion resistance suitable for washdown, outdoor, or chemically exposed environments. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and industrial assemblers install this type of fastener in collars, hubs, pulleys, and shaft couplings.
This set screw is appropriate for use in general mechanical assemblies, rotating shaft applications, and equipment maintenance across manufacturing, processing, and trade service environments. The metric M12 x 1.75 thread pitch is a standard coarse metric thread, making it compatible with tapped holes machined to that specification. The stainless steel construction makes it a suitable choice where carbon steel fasteners would corrode or contaminate the assembly. It is sold in a minimum order quantity of 5 pieces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or maintenance fastener for any M12 x 1.75 tapped set screw application conforming to DIN 916.
Installation is performed with a 6 mm hex key or hex bit driver. De-energize and lock out any rotating equipment before removing or installing set screws per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Clean the tapped hole and shaft flat or cup point indent before installation to ensure full thread engagement. Do not exceed the torque range appropriate for M12 stainless steel fasteners, as galling is a known risk with austenitic stainless; applying an anti-galling compound is standard practice.
