The VALUE COLLECTION SS6X10012-100BX is a metric cup point set screw designed for mechanical assemblies requiring a secure, low-profile fastener that sits flush with or below the surface of the workpiece. Manufactured from 18-8 austenitic stainless steel (Grade A2), this set screw offers corrosion resistance suitable for general industrial, marine-adjacent, and washdown environments. It features a hex drive socket for installation with a standard hex key, and conforms to DIN 916 dimensional standards. The cup point tip bites into the mating shaft or surface to resist rotational slippage without requiring an external nut or bolt head. Typical users include machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians working with shaft collars, pulleys, gears, and similar components.
This set screw is appropriate for metric threaded applications calling for an M10 x 1.50 thread with a 12 mm overall length. It is suited for use in light to medium-duty clamping and positioning tasks in industrial machinery, HVAC equipment frames, pump assemblies, and other mechanical systems where stainless steel corrosion resistance is required. Installation is performed with a 5 mm hex key. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces per order; package quantity is 1 per individual pack.
Designed as a DIN 916-compliant metric set screw for any M10 x 1.50 threaded bore requiring a cup point, hex drive fastener in stainless steel.
Installation requires a 5 mm hex key; use a calibrated torque wrench where joint specifications demand controlled clamp load. Always de-energize and lock out equipment before servicing any assembly containing set screws. Avoid over-torquing stainless steel fasteners, as galling can occur — application of an appropriate anti-seize compound to the threads is common practice. Verify thread engagement depth meets design requirements before returning the assembly to service.
