The VALUE COLLECTION SS-TP-FT4 is a stainless steel compression tube plug designed to seal the open end of a 1/4 inch OD tube without welding or threading the tube itself. The plug uses a standard compression end connection, creating a leak-tight seal through ferrule compression when tightened. Machined from 316 stainless steel to material grade specifications including ASTM A182, ASTM A276, and ASTM A479, it is built for corrosive service environments. At 0.5598 inches overall length and 0.25 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight fitting suited for tight instrument tubing layouts. Plumbers, pipefitters, and instrumentation technicians install this fitting when capping off unused tube ports in fluid or gas systems.
This compression tube plug is used in residential and commercial applications wherever 1/4 inch OD tubing must be capped and pressure-sealed. Typical install scenarios include instrument air lines, hydraulic sampling points, HVAC refrigerant instrumentation tubing, and process fluid systems requiring a dead-end cap on an active or inactive branch. The 9/16-20 UNF thread interface and compression end make it compatible with standard two-ferrule and single-ferrule compression fitting systems on 1/4 inch OD tubing. It carries a Swagelok-equivalent part number SS-400-P for cross-reference purposes.
Designed for use with standard compression fitting systems on 1/4 inch OD tubing. Cross-references to Swagelok part number SS-400-P for direct replacement use in existing compression tube assemblies.
Installation is performed by licensed pipefitters, instrumentation technicians, or qualified plumbers. Before installing or removing any compression fitting, isolate and depressurize the line completely and verify zero pressure with an appropriate gauge. Tighten the compression nut to the fitting body per the compression fitting manufacturer's standard procedure — do not overtighten, as this can deform the ferrule and compromise the seal. Installations in regulated piping systems should comply with applicable codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, or the International Plumbing Code as required by the jurisdiction.
