The VALUE COLLECTION SS-MC-FT8-MN4 is a stainless steel compression tube male connector designed to join a 1/2-inch OD tube to a 1/4-inch male NPT threaded port. Manufactured from 316-grade stainless steel, it meets ASTM A182, ASTM A213, ASTM A269, ASTM A276, and ASTM A479 standards, making it suitable for demanding fluid and gas service applications. The fitting features compression-style tube entry on one end and a male NPT thread on the other, providing a leak-resistant mechanical seal without soldering or welding. Licensed trades and instrumentation technicians commonly install these fittings in systems where reliable tube-to-pipe transitions are required.
This connector is well suited for use in instrumentation, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process piping systems found in both commercial and industrial settings. It handles applications where 316 stainless steel corrosion resistance is required, such as chemical exposure environments, steam service, or hygienic fluid systems. The compression end accepts 1/2-inch OD tubing, while the male NPT end connects directly to standard threaded pipe fittings, manifolds, or equipment ports. Plumbers, pipefitters, and instrumentation technicians typically specify this fitting where a clean, vibration-resistant tube connection is needed at a threaded transition point.
Designed as a compression-to-male-NPT tube connector for 1/2-inch OD tubing systems requiring a 1/4-inch MNPT port connection. Equivalent to Swagelok part number SS-810-1-4.
Installation should be performed by a qualified plumber, pipefitter, or instrumentation technician in accordance with applicable codes and system requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system before making or breaking any compression fitting connection. Ensure tubing is cut square and deburred before inserting into the compression end to achieve a proper seal. Do not overtighten the compression nut, as this may damage the ferrule and compromise the joint integrity.
