The VALUE COLLECTION SNFI2112-010BX is a slotted hex lock nut designed to resist loosening under vibration and dynamic loads. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a bright uncoated finish, this nut features a 1-1/8-12 UNF right-hand thread pattern. The slotted design accepts a cotter pin or safety wire, providing a mechanical locking method commonly required in mechanical assemblies, equipment mounting, and piping support structures. At 31/32 inches high and 1-11/16 inches across the flats, it fits standard hex tooling. This fastener is appropriate for maintenance technicians, millwrights, plumbers, and HVAC installers working with threaded rod or bolt assemblies requiring positive thread retention.
This slotted hex lock nut is suited for use in general industrial, commercial, and residential mechanical applications where vibration resistance is needed. Common install scenarios include pipe hanger assemblies, equipment base mounting, structural support work, and any threaded fastener joint subject to cyclic loading or movement. The UNF thread standard makes it compatible with inch-series threaded fasteners found throughout HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical systems. The uncoated bright finish is appropriate for dry or sheltered indoor environments.
Designed as a standard UNF inch-series replacement or new-install slotted hex lock nut for use with 1-1/8-12 threaded bolts, studs, and rods in general mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial fastener applications.
Installation is performed by maintenance technicians, millwrights, or licensed tradespeople using standard open-end, box-end, or socket wrenches sized for 1-11/16 inches across flats. De-energize equipment and relieve any system pressure before servicing fastener assemblies on live mechanical or piping systems. A cotter pin sized to the slot width should be inserted through the mating bolt hole and bent to secure the nut after torquing to the fastener joint specification. Do not reuse a cotter pin once removed.
