The VALUE COLLECTION SMPCI-1001500-100BX is a No. 10 sheet metal screw with a pan head and combination slotted-Phillips drive. It measures 1-1/2 inches in length under the head and is manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc finish for basic corrosion resistance. The Type A and Type AB point types allow this fastener to tap its own threads into light-gauge sheet metal, thin plastic, and similar materials. This pack contains 100 screws and is sized for routine mechanical and sheet metal assembly tasks performed by HVAC technicians, electricians, and general tradespeople.
These sheet metal screws are suited for light-gauge metal-to-metal and metal-to-substrate fastening in residential and light commercial applications. Common uses include securing HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, junction box covers, sheet metal panels, and similar assemblies where a self-tapping fastener is required. The pan head profile provides a wide bearing surface and sits flush to low-profile against the workpiece, making it appropriate for surfaces where a flat seating face is needed without a countersink.
Designed as a standard No. 10 sheet metal screw for use in light-gauge sheet metal, thin-wall assemblies, and similar substrates where a self-tapping Type A or Type AB fastener is specified.
Installation is performed with a flathead or Phillips screwdriver or a power driver with an appropriate bit. For Type A point use, a pilot hole may be required in heavier gauges; for Type AB point use, a pilot hole is generally recommended to control thread engagement. Follow applicable codes such as SMACNA standards for ductwork fastening when used in HVAC applications. Do not overtorque — strip-out is the primary failure mode in light-gauge sheet metal.
