The VALUE COLLECTION SMHWI-1003000SL-100BX is a No. 10 sheet metal screw with a hex washer head and slotted drive, designed for fastening sheet metal and light-gauge materials in trade applications. The screw measures 3 inches in length under the head and is manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc finish for basic corrosion resistance. It carries both Type A and Type AB point designations, making it suitable for use in thin sheet metal as well as slightly thicker gauges. This fastener is sold in a box of 100 and is commonly installed by HVAC technicians, electricians, and general sheet metal workers.
Sheet metal screws of this type are used throughout residential and light commercial construction and service work. Typical applications include securing HVAC duct sections, attaching junction box covers, fastening sheet metal panels, and anchoring light-gauge components to metal framing. The hex washer head provides a bearing surface that resists pull-through on thin stock, and the slotted drive accommodates standard flathead screwdrivers as well as hex-head nut drivers common in HVAC field kits. The Type A and Type AB points allow for use in pre-punched or self-starting applications across a range of sheet thicknesses.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style sheet metal fastener for standard No. 10 applications in HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, and light-gauge sheet metal assemblies.
Sheet metal screws of this type are installed by HVAC technicians, electricians, and sheet metal workers using a slotted screwdriver or hex nut driver. Power down or de-energize any electrical enclosure or HVAC unit before fastening panels or covers. Ensure the workpiece is properly supported and aligned before driving the screw to avoid distorting thin sheet metal. Follow applicable codes such as the NEC for electrical enclosure fastening requirements.
