The VALUE COLLECTION SM32P0032 is a taper pipe reamer designed to finish and size tapered pipe threads in metal pipe and fittings. It features a spiral flute geometry with a left-hand spiral and right-hand cut, which helps pull chips away from the cutting zone and produces a clean, accurate taper. The reamer is machined from high-speed steel with a bright finish, providing good wear resistance across a range of common pipe materials. It is sized for 1/2 inch pipe with a large-end diameter of 0.751 inches and a small-end diameter of 0.665 inches. Plumbers, pipefitters, and maintenance machinists use this tool to true up pipe thread entries after threading or when a fitting seats poorly.
This reamer is suited for use on ferrous and non-ferrous pipe in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant piping, and general mechanical applications. The cylindrical straight shank fits standard drill chucks and machine spindles, making it usable in a drill press, hand drill, or manual tap wrench. The 1-3/8 inch flute length accommodates typical pipe wall thickness, and the 3-1/8 inch overall length provides adequate reach without excessive overhang in most service scenarios.
Designed as a standard taper pipe reamer for 1/2 inch pipe applications. Fits drill chucks accepting a cylindrical straight shank. Suitable for use on pipe and fittings where a tapered seat finish is required prior to assembly.
This tool is typically used by plumbers, pipefitters, and machinists working with threaded pipe assemblies. Secure the workpiece firmly before reaming to prevent rotation and ensure a concentric cut. Apply a cutting fluid appropriate for the pipe material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Inspect cutting edges before use and replace or sharpen the reamer if edges are chipped or dull, as a damaged reamer can produce an out-of-tolerance taper.
