The VALUE COLLECTION SM24N50 is a taper pin reamer designed for enlarging, finishing, and shaping tapered holes to accept standard taper pins. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers consistent cutting performance in general-purpose machining applications. The reamer is sized for a 5/0 taper pin, with a small end diameter of 0.0719 inches and a large end diameter of 0.0966 inches. A 1:48 taper rate and straight flute geometry make it well suited for manual and machine-driven reaming operations in metal fabrication and maintenance work.
This reamer is used wherever taper pins are employed to secure components on shafts, in jigs, or in assembly fixtures. It is a standard tool in machine shops, toolrooms, and maintenance departments handling precision mechanical assemblies. With an overall length of 2.1875 inches and a flute length of 1.1875 inches, it fits compact workpieces and tight access areas. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard drill press and hand-reaming setups.
Designed as a general-purpose taper pin reamer for use with standard 5/0 taper pins in metal machining, toolroom, and mechanical assembly applications.
Machinists and maintenance technicians should secure the workpiece firmly before reaming and ensure the pilot hole is properly sized before using this tool. Apply cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Use consistent, steady feed pressure to avoid chatter or tool deflection. Never force a reamer through an undersized hole.
