The VALUE COLLECTION SM2200300 is a straight shell reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel, this reamer delivers consistent material removal and maintains dimensional accuracy on final-pass bore work. It measures 3 inches in diameter with a 4 inch overall length, and accepts a No. 10 arbor through a 1.5 inch center hole. Right-hand cutting geometry makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for shell reamers when close-tolerance hole sizing is required after drilling or boring.
This shell reamer is suited for use in manual mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers where a No. 10 arbor is available. It is appropriate for production and job-shop environments handling medium-to-large bore finishing on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. The straight flute design works well in materials that do not tend to chatter under straight-flute cutting conditions. Typical users include machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians performing precision bore work on fixtures, housings, and mechanical assemblies.
Designed for use with No. 10 arbors on drill presses, manual mills, and CNC machining centers requiring a 3 inch final bore diameter.
Shell reamers are installed by a machinist onto a matching arbor before mounting in the machine spindle. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Verify arbor size and reamer seating before initiating a cut.
