The VALUE COLLECTION SM1500026 is a chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to precise tolerances. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer handles tough materials and elevated cutting temperatures better than standard high-speed steel tooling. The 6-flute spiral configuration with right-hand cutting direction delivers smooth chip evacuation and a consistent surface finish. With an overall length of 7 inches and a flute length of 1-3/4 inches, it fits standard drill chucks and collet-style holders via its straight-cylindrical shank. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this reamer where hole size accuracy and finish quality are critical.
This chucking reamer is suited for general-purpose machine shop work including CNC machining centers, knee mills, drill presses, and manual lathes. The 13/32 inch diameter (0.4062 decimal inch) targets applications requiring holes in the 0.4000 to 0.4999 inch range. It is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where cobalt steel offers a hardness and heat-resistance advantage over standard M2 tooling. It is not configured as an over/under size reamer or a dowel pin reamer.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in standard drill chucks and straight-bore collet holders on machining centers, knee mills, drill presses, and similar machine tools requiring a straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet before use and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Always set spindle speed and feed rate appropriate to the workpiece material and reamer diameter — excessive speed or interrupted feeds can cause chatter or tool damage. Ensure the workpiece is properly clamped and that the pre-drilled or bored hole leaves adequate stock for the reamer to remove in a single pass.
