The VALUE COLLECTION SM0500350 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for finishing drilled holes to a precise 3.50mm (0.1378 inches) diameter. Made from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers accurate bore sizing in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a 4-inch overall length and a 1-inch flute length, the SM0500350 is well suited for short-reach finishing operations on the mill, lathe, or drill press. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this style of reamer to bring a bored or drilled hole to final dimensional tolerance with a smooth, consistent finish.
This chucking reamer is appropriate for use in machine shop, production, and maintenance-repair-operations (MRO) environments. It fits applications where a hole must be reamed to a nominal 3.50mm diameter falling within the 3.00mm to 4.00mm reamer diameter range. Typical install scenarios include fixture fabrication, dowel-pin hole finishing, and close-tolerance bore work in job shop and industrial settings. The tool is sold individually and is ready to use out of the package with no additional prep required.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and milling machines equipped with standard drill chucks or collet holders that accept a straight-cylindrical shank.
Chucking reamers are installed and removed by a licensed machinist or trained toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck or collet before starting the spindle, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required. Use cutting fluid appropriate to the work material to extend tool life and improve surface finish.
