The VALUE COLLECTION SM0410040 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to bring bored or drilled holes to a precise final diameter of 1.0040 inches. Machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent sizing performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and machine collets. With an overall length of 10.5 inches and a 2.75-inch flute length, it is suited for through-holes and moderate-depth blind holes requiring tight dimensional tolerance. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC and manual lathe or mill setups.
This chucking reamer is used in machine shop, toolroom, and production environments where a finish-reamed hole at 1.0040 inches is required. Typical applications include bearing seat preparation, pin-fit bores, and close-tolerance assembly holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and brass. The straight-cylindrical shank makes it compatible with ER collet chucks, Jacobs-style drill chucks, and similar workholding found on lathes, knee mills, and machining centers. It is installed and operated by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working to print tolerances.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in lathes, milling machines, and machining centers equipped with drill chucks or collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank at the 1.0040-inch nominal diameter class.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by qualified machinists. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a concentric chuck or collet to minimize runout before operation. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Inspect cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and do not force a worn reamer through an undersized bore.
