The VALUE COLLECTION SM0409950 is a high-speed steel chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 0.9950-inch diameter. Built from HSS with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers accurate sizing and smooth surface finish in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in a drill press, lathe tailstock, or CNC chuck. Right-hand cutting geometry with straight flutes makes it well-suited for through-holes and shorter blind-hole applications where chip evacuation is straightforward. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this type of reamer for production and maintenance work where tight hole tolerances are required.
This chucking reamer is appropriate for machine shop, maintenance, and toolroom applications where a 0.9950-inch finished bore is required. The 2-3/4 inch flute length provides adequate cutting engagement for typical material stock thicknesses encountered in general machining. The 10-1/2 inch overall length accommodates work-holding setups on standard lathes and drill presses. It is suited for use in steel, cast iron, aluminum, brass, and similar machinable materials at appropriate feeds and speeds for HSS tooling.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, engine lathes, turret lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with a chuck or collet capable of accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.9950-inch diameter range.
This reamer is installed and operated by qualified machinists following standard machine shop practices. Always bring the spindle to a complete stop and de-energize the machine before mounting or removing the tool from the chuck or collet. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and achieve the best bore finish. Feed rate and spindle speed should follow published HSS reamer guidelines for the specific material being machined — excessive feed pressure can cause chatter, bell-mouthing, or premature tool wear.
