The VALUE COLLECTION SM0407450 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to a precise 0.7450-inch diameter. Machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent bore accuracy in ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks, collets, and floating reamer holders. At 9.5 inches overall length with a 2.5-inch flute length, it reaches into moderate-depth bores without excessive overhang. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC and manual lathe or drill press applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this reamer where tight hole tolerances and smooth surface finish are required.
This chucking reamer is suited for machine shop, maintenance, and production environments where holes must be brought to a finished diameter after drilling or boring. The straight flute geometry is preferred for through-holes and short blind holes in materials such as mild steel, aluminum, brass, and cast iron. The bright HSS construction performs well at moderate cutting speeds without the need for coated tooling in general-purpose applications. It is held in a drill press, lathe tailstock, or machining center using a standard chuck or collet sized to the straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with a standard chuck or collet accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
A licensed machinist or qualified machine operator should install and operate this reamer. Secure the workpiece firmly before reaming and ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped in the chuck or collet before spindle engagement. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Never force a reamer through a hole that has not been drilled or bored to the correct pre-ream diameter; allow the cutting edges to do the work at the recommended feed rate for the material.
