The VALUE COLLECTION SM0406150 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and similar materials. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent sizing and smooth surface finish in drilling and boring applications. The reamer measures 0.6150 inches in diameter with a 9-inch overall length and a 2.25-inch flute length. Its straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Six right-hand cutting flutes distribute cutting load evenly, reducing chatter and improving hole roundness. This tool is suited for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and general metalworking shops running production or maintenance operations.
This chucking reamer is used to bring pre-drilled or bored holes to a precise finished diameter in machine shop and manufacturing environments. It is well suited for use in drill presses, lathes, and milling machines where a chuck or collet is used to hold the shank. Typical applications include finishing holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. The 0.6150-inch diameter falls within the 0.5000 to 0.6999-inch decimal inch reamer range, making it appropriate for mid-range bore finishing work in both prototype and production settings.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and milling machines equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank.
This reamer is installed and operated by machinists in machine shop environments. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet before use and ensure the workpiece is rigidly clamped. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Reamers remove minimal stock and require a properly sized pilot hole; do not use this tool as a substitute for a drill bit.
