The VALUE COLLECTION SM0405630 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 0.5630-inch diameter. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers consistent cutting performance across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct clamping in drill chucks, collets, or floating reamer holders on lathes, mills, and drill presses. At 8 inches overall length with a 2-inch flute length, it provides adequate reach for typical through-hole and shallow blind-hole applications without excessive overhang.
This chucking reamer is suited for machine shop, toolroom, and production floor use where hole tolerance and surface finish are critical. It is appropriate for manual lathe operations, CNC turning with floating holders, and vertical mill setups. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. Typical applications include bearing bores, bushing seats, and precision pin fits in metalworking and light industrial assembly environments. It is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision manufacturing technicians.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer for use in drill chucks, collets, or floating reamer holders on lathes, mills, drill presses, and similar machine tools that accept a straight-cylindrical shank.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists following standard machine tool procedures. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet and verify runout before cutting. Always leave adequate stock for the reamer to remove, typically 0.003 to 0.010 inches on the diameter for finishing passes, and use an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material. Power down the machine and lock out energy before changing tooling or inspecting the bore.
