The VALUE COLLECTION SM0401815 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to a precise 0.1815-inch diameter. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS), it delivers reliable cutting performance across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose reaming applications where specialized coatings are not required. The straight-cylindrical shank allows secure seating in drill chucks, collet chucks, and other standard machine tool holders. Right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with conventional CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this reamer when dimensional accuracy and smooth bore finish are required after drilling.
This chucking reamer is suited for use on machining centers, drill presses, and lathes in metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance environments. It falls within the 0.1500 to 0.1999-inch diameter range, making it appropriate for small-bore hole finishing in precision components, jigs, fixtures, and tooling assemblies. The straight-flute geometry is well suited for through-hole applications in materials that produce short, breakable chips. It is used in both production and job-shop settings where consistent hole sizing is required.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer compatible with standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and floating reamer holders used on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and engine lathes.
Chucking reamers are installed and operated by machinists familiar with machine tool setup and cutting tool practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before installing or removing the reamer from the chuck. Use a proper cutting fluid or lubricant appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Do not attempt to remove stock beyond the reamer's intended finishing allowance, as this can damage the cutting edges or compromise dimensional accuracy.
