The VALUE COLLECTION SC5082D5 is a single-end, straight-cylindrical shank countersink designed for countersinking and deburring operations in metal fabrication and machining. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable performance across a range of hole-finishing tasks. The 82-degree included angle (41-degree centerline angle) matches the standard fastener head geometry used widely in aerospace and general metalworking applications. The zero-flute design uses a smooth, cone-shaped cutting surface suited for chamfering and deburring rather than chip-evacuating cuts. With a 0.5-inch shank diameter and a cutting diameter range of 5/8 inch to 1-15/32 inches, it fits standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders used in shop and field work.
This countersink is suited for machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians performing hole chamfering, fastener seat preparation, and edge deburring on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The zero-flute geometry makes it particularly effective for hand-held or slow-speed drilling applications where chatter control is a priority. It is sold as a single countersink head without a pilot, making it a straightforward drop-in for setups that already use a separate pilot or guide bushing.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders accepting a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for countersinking and deburring applications across typical shop and maintenance setups.
Install the shank securely in a drill chuck or collet before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Power down or de-energize any motorized spindle before changing tooling. For hand-held use, maintain consistent feed pressure to prevent chatter inherent to zero-flute geometry. Wear appropriate eye protection when deburring, as this tool type can produce fine metal chips and burrs.
