The VALUE COLLECTION SC5082D4 is a single-end, straight-cylindrical-shank countersink designed for countersinking and deburring operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool cuts at an 82-degree included angle, which is the standard for most inch-series flat-head fastener applications. The 0-flute design functions as a cone-style burnishing countersink, producing a smooth seat without chip buildup. The 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and countersink holders. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and sheet metal fabricators are the primary users of this tool.
This countersink covers a minimum cutting diameter of 9/16 inches and a maximum cutting diameter of 1-1/16 inches, making it suitable for preparing seats for common flat-head machine screws and similar fasteners in that size range. It is appropriate for use in manual drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held drill applications where a clean, consistent countersink seat is required. The 82-degree geometry is a match for standard unified inch flat-head screw specifications. No pilot is included, so a center-drilled hole or existing through-hole is required before use.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in standard drill press, CNC, and hand-drill setups where an 82-degree flat-head screw seat is required with a cutting range of 9/16 to 1-1/16 inches.
A licensed machinist or experienced fabricator should set spindle speed appropriate to the workpiece material before use — consult published HSS cutting speed tables for the specific material. Always secure the workpiece and ensure the drill chuck is tightened to rated torque before operation. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing or adjusting the countersink. Do not use this tool on hardened steel without confirming material compatibility with the HSS grade.
