The VALUE COLLECTION SC5082D2 is a single-end, straight-shank countersink designed for countersinking and deburring operations in metal fabrication and general machining work. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool operates in right-hand cutting direction and features an 82-degree included angle, making it suited for flat-head fastener seat preparation to standard inch-series fastener geometry. The 0-flute design uses a single cutting edge, which is typical for countersinking into softer materials and non-ferrous metals where chatter control is a priority. It accepts a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank and weighs approximately 0.09 pounds.
This countersink is used in light manufacturing, maintenance, and repair applications where standard 82-degree flat-head screw seats are required. It covers a cutting diameter range from 0.1875 inches minimum to 0.53125 inches maximum, making it appropriate for a range of fastener sizes in that span. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians install this tool in drill presses, hand drills, and milling machine spindles when preparing holes for flush-mount flat-head fasteners or cleaning up drilled hole edges on metal, plastic, or composite workpieces.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank across drill presses, hand drills, and milling machines.
A licensed machinist or trained technician should secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Run speed selection should follow published HSS cutting speed tables for the workpiece material — do not exceed recommended RPM for high-speed steel tooling. No pilot is included with this countersink; use a separate pilot if precise concentricity with the drilled hole is required.
