The VALUE COLLECTION SC4090016 is a single-end, 3-flute countersink designed for right-hand cutting in metal, wood, and composite materials. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright/uncoated finish, it delivers clean, accurate chamfering and seat preparation for flat-head fasteners. The 90-degree included angle — with a 45-degree centerline angle — is the standard geometry for most countersunk fastener applications in both production and maintenance environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/16 inches in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and quick-change holders. No pilot is included. Machinists, tool-and-die techs, and maintenance professionals use this tool for deburring, chamfering, and countersinking on manual and CNC machines alike.
This countersink is suited for general-purpose countersinking of screw seats in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and wood. The 1/4-inch head diameter fits light-duty and precision work where a compact cutting profile is needed. It is appropriate for use in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments handling standard flat-head fastener installations requiring a clean 90-degree seat.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use with standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drill drivers equipped with a chuck sized to accept a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This tool is installed and removed by a licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck before operation and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before tool changes. Run at speeds appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter — consult a standard machining speeds-and-feeds reference for HSS countersinks. Wear appropriate eye protection; chip ejection is common during countersinking operations.
