The VALUE COLLECTION SC4082040 is a single-end, 3-flute countersink designed for right-hand cutting in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this tool produces clean, chamfered seat profiles at an 82-degree included angle — the standard angle for flat-head fastener seating in steel, aluminum, and similar materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inch in diameter with a 1-inch shank length, and the head diameter is 5/8 inch. No pilot is included. At 0.12 pounds, it is a lightweight, single-piece tool suited for bench drill press or hand-drill use.
This countersink is used in general metalworking, maintenance, and fabrication settings where flat-head screws or bolts require a properly chamfered hole seat. The 82-degree geometry matches the head angle of most imperial flat-head machine screws. Typical applications include sheet metal work, structural steel drilling, fixture building, and field maintenance tasks. It is appropriate for use in both shop and on-site environments by machinists, millwrights, ironworkers, and maintenance technicians working with standard imperial fastener patterns.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in drill presses, hand drills, and milling machines equipped with a standard 3/8-inch or larger chuck capacity. Compatible with setups requiring an 82-degree countersink profile for imperial flat-head fastener applications.
This tool is installed by machinists or maintenance technicians by securing the straight-cylindrical shank into a drill chuck or collet of appropriate size. Ensure the machine is powered off and the chuck is fully tightened before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid when countersinking harder ferrous materials to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Do not exceed the drill press or hand drill RPM rating appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
