The VALUE COLLECTION SC4082016 is a single-end, 3-flute countersink machined from high-speed steel for deburring and countersinking operations in metal, wood, and composite materials. The tool features an 82-degree included angle with a 41-degree centerline angle, making it suited to standard flat-head fastener seat preparation. The 0.25-inch head diameter and 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank allow it to chuck into standard drill presses, hand drills, and milling machine setups. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose use where coating adhesion or elevated heat resistance is not a primary concern. At 0.06 pounds, the tool is compact and easy to handle during bench or in-machine work.
This countersink is intended for trade and production use wherever 82-degree flat-head fastener seats are required. Typical applications include preparing holes in sheet metal, aluminum plate, structural steel, and similar materials before fastener installation. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard clockwise-rotation drill presses and CNC spindles. The straight-cylindrical shank fits collets and drill chucks commonly found in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication environments. No pilot is included, so the operator controls centering through workholding or a guide bushing as needed.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use with standard drill presses, hand drills, and CNC spindles accepting a 3/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Machinists and fabricators should secure the workpiece firmly before operation to prevent walking or chatter. Power down the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before changing or inspecting the tool. Set spindle speed appropriate to the workpiece material and tool diameter per standard machining reference charts. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the tool if damage is observed.
