The VALUE COLLECTION SC2182056 is a single-end cobalt steel countersink designed for creating angled seat holes that accept flat-head fasteners flush with or below a workpiece surface. With a 7/8 inch head diameter, an 82-degree included angle, and 6 flutes, this tool delivers smooth, chatter-resistant cutting in ferrous and hard materials. The straight cylindrical 1/2 inch shank fits standard drill chucks and milling machine collets. The bright, uncoated finish is well suited for general countersinking work where coating is not required. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and fabrication professionals install this tool during drilling and finishing operations.
This countersink is appropriate for production and maintenance machining environments where flat-head screw clearance holes are required. The 82-degree included angle is the standard angle for flat-head machine screws used in aerospace and general metalworking applications. The 6-flute geometry provides a superior surface finish compared to single- or three-flute designs and reduces chatter on harder materials. It does not include a pilot, so hole alignment depends on fixturing or a pre-drilled guide hole. Suitable for use in drill presses, milling machines, and hand-held power tools with appropriate speed control.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in drill presses, milling machines, and power hand tools accepting a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by machinists or qualified fabricators familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify the workpiece is firmly clamped. Use appropriate spindle speeds for the material being cut — cobalt tools tolerate higher heat but still benefit from controlled feed rates. Eye protection and chip guards should be in place during all countersinking operations.
