The VALUE COLLECTION SC2182048 is a single-end cobalt steel countersink designed for creating clean, chamfered seat holes in metal and other hard materials. It features a 3/4 inch head diameter, an 82-degree included angle with a 41-degree centerline angle, and six flutes for smooth chip evacuation and consistent finish quality. The bright, uncoated surface is standard for cobalt-grade tooling. The 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill press chucks and milling machine collets. This tool is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance mechanics in production and job-shop environments.
This countersink is suited for countersinking fastener seats in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other tough materials where high-speed steel tooling may wear prematurely. The 82-degree angle matches the flat-head fastener standard common in North American machine screw applications. It is a single-end tool with no included pilot, so centering relies on the operator or a drill press setup. Typical applications include countersinking drilled holes prior to flat-head screw installation in fabrication, maintenance, and light manufacturing work.
Designed as an OEM-style single-end countersink for use in drill presses, milling machines, and hand-held drilling equipment accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This tool is used by machinists and maintenance mechanics. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet before operation and ensure the workpiece is clamped to prevent rotation. Run at appropriate spindle speeds for the base material — cobalt tooling tolerates higher heat than standard HSS but still requires proper feeds and speeds to avoid tip damage. Always de-energize or lock out machinery before changing tooling per standard machine-shop lockout/tagout procedures.
