The VALUE COLLECTION SC1082056 is a single-flute countersink designed for producing conical recesses in metal and other materials at an 82-degree included angle. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers reliable cutting performance in general machining and fabrication environments. It features a 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank and a 7/8-inch head diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and milling machine setups. The right-hand cutting direction suits conventional drilling operations. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and metalworking tradespeople use this countersink for deburring, chamfering, and preparing holes to accept flat-head fasteners.
This countersink is suited for light-to-medium duty countersinking applications in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication settings. The 82-degree included angle aligns with standard flat-head screw geometry commonly used in North American fastener specifications. The single-flute design reduces chatter and provides good surface finish in softer metals and plastics. No pilot is included, so the operator centers the tool using the existing drilled hole. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both manual and CNC-assisted operations where precise, clean countersinks are required.
Designed as a general-purpose countersink for use in standard drill chucks, collet holders, and milling machine setups accepting a 1/2-inch straight shank.
This tool is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a drill press, milling machine, or hand drill with a compatible 1/2-inch chuck or collet. Always ensure the spindle is fully stopped and power is disconnected before changing or securing tooling. Use appropriate workholding to secure the workpiece and prevent rotation during operation. Run at manufacturer-recommended speeds for the material being countersunk to avoid tool overheating or premature wear.
