The VALUE COLLECTION SC0850208 is a high-speed steel Morse taper core drill designed for large-diameter hole production in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built with a 4-flute configuration and a 5MT shank, this core drill delivers stable cutting action and efficient chip evacuation at 2.125 inches diameter. The oxide coating provides surface hardness and helps reduce friction during cutting. With an overall length of 17.375 inches, it is suited for deep-reach drilling setups on drill presses, lathes, and machining centers. Machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This core drill is used in metalworking environments where a standard twist drill cannot efficiently produce large-diameter through-holes. The 5MT shank mounts directly into compatible Morse taper spindles, eliminating the need for a separate chuck. The 10.25-inch flute length accommodates substantial material depth in a single pass. Right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional clockwise spindle rotation.
Designed for use in drill press spindles, lathe tailstocks, and machining center quills equipped with a No. 5 Morse taper socket. Suitable for right-hand rotating machine spindles only.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing the taper shank. Clean both the tool taper and the spindle socket thoroughly before insertion to ensure full contact and prevent fretting. Confirm spindle rotation direction is right-hand before engaging the cut.
