The VALUE COLLECTION SC0840126 is a high-speed steel Morse taper core drill designed for enlarging or finishing existing holes in metal and other hard materials. Built with a 4 MT shank taper, this drill seats directly into compatible Morse taper spindles and arbors, eliminating the need for a separate chuck. The 1-13/32 inch cutting diameter and 14-5/8 inch overall length make it well suited for deep-hole drilling applications where reach and rigidity are both required. The oxide finish provides light corrosion resistance and reduces friction during cutting. Right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction are standard for conventional drill press and lathe use. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users of this tool.
This core drill is used in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and industrial maintenance environments where accurate hole enlargement is required on ferrous metals, cast iron, and similar materials. The 4-flute design improves surface finish and chip evacuation compared to a standard 2-flute twist drill, making it appropriate for reaming-style operations and for cleaning up punched or cast holes. The 4 MT shank suits larger floor-standing drill presses, lathes, and milling machines equipped with a No. 4 Morse taper spindle.
Designed for use with drill presses, lathes, and milling machines fitted with a No. 4 Morse taper spindle or sleeve. A 4 MT to appropriate adapter sleeve is required if the machine spindle uses a different taper size.
Installation is performed by machinists or qualified maintenance technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing the taper shank. Clean both the shank and spindle bore before insertion to ensure full taper contact and prevent slippage under load. Use a proper drift and drift slot to remove the drill after use — do not strike the body of the tool directly.
