The VALUE COLLECTION SC0830052 is a high-speed steel Morse taper core drill designed for enlarging existing holes to precise diameters in metal fabrication and machining applications. The 13/16-inch (0.8125-inch) cutting diameter, four-flute geometry, and 118-degree included angle work together to produce clean, accurate bores with reduced chatter. An oxide coating provides basic corrosion resistance and helps reduce friction during the cut. With an overall length of 10-3/4 inches and a 6-1/8-inch flute length, this tool handles moderate-depth boring tasks on drill presses and milling machines. The 3MT (No. 3 Morse Taper) shank seats directly into compatible taper spindles without a separate chuck.
This core drill is suited for job shop, maintenance, and production environments where operators need to open pilot holes to a finished diameter rather than starting from solid stock. Typical applications include enlarging cast, punched, or previously drilled holes in steel, iron, and similar ferrous materials. Right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction are the standard configuration for conventional feed on vertical drill presses and knee mills. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users of this style of drill.
Designed for use in drill press, milling machine, or lathe tailstock spindles fitted with a No. 3 Morse Taper socket. Suitable for enlarging existing holes in ferrous metals in general machining and maintenance applications.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or trained industrial technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the taper shank. Clean the taper socket and shank mating surfaces before seating to prevent runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve hole finish.
